Sauer is growing!

Thanks to the fact that the company has experienced such a high level of growth in all of its business segments in recent years, in 2008, Sauer & Sohn is investing in expansion and modernisation at its manufacturing locations in Kiel and Zandov in the Czech Republic. Total investment volume: approx. 10 mill. euros.

The Sauer group have been able to further expand their position in the global market for compressors by introducing new products and increasing ther market shares.Additional production capacities shall enable the company to take advantage of market opportunities. The construction work in Kiel and Zandov schould be completed in Autumn, 2008.

Construction work in Kiel was started in April. The new hall shall provide 2,500 sq m of space, which upon completion will mainly be used for a test bay area, a painting cabin and assembly. In addition, aproxx. 1 mill. euros shall be invested in the modernisation of the machinery to include machining centres.

At the factory in Zandov, the expansion of the manufacturing and assembly capacity incorporates a hall of approx. 1,000 sq m. State-of-the-art machining centres will also help in optimising production. Furthermore, additional space and the latest equipment is planned for both locations.

The target of this substantial investment is to reduce the time required for production cycles. This will ensure that Sauer & Sohn's customers continue to get what the expect: the best compressors and the fastest possible delivery.
